California’s marriage age is 18 but the law includes alarming loopholes: A parent may “consent” to marry off a child of any age with judicial approval, and the court may enter a child of any age into marriage if the child does not have a parent capable of “consenting” to the marriage.
Whereas, Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) seeks to raise public awareness about sexual violence, educates communities on how to prevent it, and calls attention to the fact that sexual assault is widespread and impacts millions of adults, teenagers, and children; and

There’s a story in San Diego that hasn’t been told. It’s one of abuse of power and a lack of accountability that has drowned out the voice of the people. It’s the story of a shadow government– one that you don’t get to vote for—that makes decisions every day that affect you, your family, and your community. It’s a story of leaders who put their personal ambitions over the interests of the people they represent. It’s a story that should make all county residents very angry.
